Leaving a Lasting Impression

I received the following email message from a dear friend of mine who has been a mentor to me for years.

“…your last two blogs described MY DAD. Of course he wasn’t perfect. But he really knew how to listen, before making judgment or handing out instruction for what was right. His questions and his way of sharing his experiences were so helpful.
We spent lots of time together because of our love for horses and riding.
He and my Mom truly loved getting to know my friends and showing interest in them as well. I’m on the committee for my 50th class reunion and more than once different classmates have commented on my Dad or my Mom in such dear ways.
I’m sure one of the reasons I responded to the instructions given to me by my Heavenly Father had A LOT to do with the fact that I had a biological/earthly father whose instructions were backed with love and respect.”

Her dad made a lasting impression on her heart as well as on the hearts and lives of her friends. So much so that they are still talking about her parents as they plan for their 50th high school reunion!

You want to leave a lasting impression on your kids as well as their friends? You want to share God with others? Share life, spend time, show interest, listen, and love well. When dads parent with love and respect, they help reflect God the Father to their own family and to others who are watching without you even knowing!

That is a big calling and well worth the cost!

Thanks for stepping in,

Kristy Fox
